Ro -- I think bladder infections are more common in cats; why, I don't know. But yes, cat pee is a horrible, insidious odour. Only Nature's Miracle seems to work for me.
I've been giving the cat an antibiotic pill twice a day for the past 3 days. The vet suggested hiding it in food, but my cat is smart in a stupid way and just licked all the food off and left the pill in the bowl. So I've had to start administering the pills with a little pill popper (plastic device for shooting the pill down her throat. It's as nasty as it sounds).
And here's a link for all those of you who wonder what it's like to give a cat a pill: truer words have never been written.

Hmmm. Do you think it's possible that Lucy has had a bladder infection for the entire 9 years of her life? Nah, cuz then she wouldn't be so consistent about where she pees outside the litter box.
Stupid stupid cats. We must be insane. If it's any consolation, Mel, cat pee is way less odiferous than rabbit pee. Perhaps more tenacious though.

Oh my God, Shannon, if rabbit pee is more odiferous than cat pee, I shudder to think what it must be like! Cat pee is SO noxious.
